This is my opinion:
Recycling is a fact of life and is necessary. Our landfills are growing at an alarming rate. Every printer cartridge thrown away increases that waste. Some companies put legal and technological barriers in place to prevent you from reusing your printer cartridge. HP® and Brother® do not put those barriers in place. For this reason, and because of the excellent print quality, I recommend HP® and Brother® printers whenever I am asked.
Lexmark® recently lost a lawsuit that attempted to restrict the ability of consumers to refill and reuse their empty printer cartridges. However, Lexmark and Epson are making printer cartridges that are extremely difficult to remanufacture.
